Omar Liaqat

Chief Operating Officer

Omar Liaqat is a founding member and the Chief Operating Officer of Abu Dhabi Investment Council. He oversees the implementation of ADIC’s operating strategy as directed by the Managing Director & CEO and supervises corporate support functions such as Information Technology, Management Accounts, and General Services.

He previously worked at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) for 19 years. Before moving to Abu Dhabi, Omar worked in London with Ernst & Young as an auditor for several years with a host of high-profile clients.

Omar is a qualified Chartered Accountant (FCA) by profession having qualified from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) in 1985. He is also a designated Business and Finance Professional (BFP) from ICAEW, UK.
